Internet and Phone
Once again, there is a good amount of competition when it comes to internet in New Zealand. In this section you will find a list of Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Most of these companies provide Internet and fixed line calling bundles i.e. your landline phone. You also have the option to go for a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone, which essentially save you the cost of the monthly line rental of a traditional landline phone, as the calls are made through the internet.
The list below is based on the results of a Consumer New Zealand survey measuring the performance of ISPs. The bigger ISPs in New Zealand is Telecom, TelstraClear, Vodafone, Orcon etc. These companies can generally give better prices and have the most clients, although based on the survey they don’t necessarily have the best service. The smaller companies, although pricier, comes out on top for reliability and service.
One thing is certain, when it comes to the Internet, New Zealand is far superior to South Africa based on speed, reliability and price.
